The Keeneland Yearling Trio is back for 2026. We will look to buy three yearlings this fall, at Keeneland, at OBS or by private purchase, sell one as a 2-year-old, and race the other two. One partnership, three horses, three chances to find a runner.

Two stakes wins, a week apart.
On September 5, Tomasello won the Grade 3 Singspiel Stakes at Woodbine: a mile and three-eighths on the turf, by half a length. On September 12, Mattingly won the $100,000 Bob Umphrey Turf Sprint at Gulfstream Park: five furlongs. These are the days these partnerships are built for, and our partners were part of them.

Instead of one yearling, a Trio partnership owns three, and each one has its own path. We look for a yearling that suits the 2-year-old sales and for yearlings we want to race. With thousands of yearlings at the fall yearling sales or by private purchase, there is room to be patient and choosy.
As always: zero markup. You pay exactly what the horses cost. We don't sell horses. We buy and manage them FOR you.

One of the 2025 Trio's three was a $13,000 yearling that sold for $85,000 at a 2-year-old sale.
A successful pinhook for the group. The remaining two look to have real potential as runners, and the partnership goes forward with both.

The $140,000 is a target; the final figure may be more or less. Partners pay the actual purchase price. $140,000 +/-
You pay exactly what the horses cost: no markup, no hidden fees. The final price per 5% follows the actual purchase prices, and monthly costs are billed at actual invoice and will vary.
The first of the three: Hip 1208
Bay colt by Oscar Performance out of Sweeter Still (IRE). Foaled April 12, 2025. Kentucky-bred, Breeders' Cup nominated. Bought at Keeneland September, Book 3, for $75,000.
This colt has as good a pedigree as you will find at this level of the sale. He is a half-brother to Kameko, winner of the QIPCO 2000 Guineas (G1), out of a graded stakes winner, by a sire who has already produced two Grade 1 winners.
He is average in size, which is normal for the Kitten's Joy line. What likely kept some buyers away is that the dam has not produced many winners. There is a caveat: about half of her foals raced in Europe, where there are none of the minor tracks we have here, fields of 10 to 15 are common, and small purses mean many horses never run for a maiden win. Read with that in mind, the page looks very different.
We are thrilled to have him. Every horse carries risk and has to live up to what the pedigree says he can be. We kept to a broad list and our numbers, and this colt is the result.
Pricing for the Trio is unchanged through Monday, September 21. This colt's $75,000 is part of the $140,000 estimated purchase target for the three yearlings.
