In training now in Ocala and roughly 45 days from heading to the track. He's on the small to medium side, which is exactly what City Zip mares tend to throw, and exactly what we're not worried about. More on that below. As a New York-bred, he's eligible for everything the program offers, including the new Empire Trillium Series.

City Zip didn't traditionally make big horses. He made fast, sound, precocious ones. We've won with small horses before, and we'd rather have the engine than the frame. The yearling, for what it's worth, looks like he'll have both.

Bucchero's runners win on dirt, on turf, and on synthetic, and his synthetic numbers are among his best. With the new Belmont opening a one-mile Tapeta track for winter racing, that versatility isn't a footnote. It's a plan.

Purse Parity
New York-bred races are reaching purse parity with open company. 2-year-old state-bred races already run for open-level money, with full parity across the board arriving in January. Our 2YO lands in the sweet spot: restricted competition, open purses.

The New Belmont
A rebuilt Belmont Park opens this September, with a one-mile Tapeta track that brings year-round racing downstate. More race dates, more opportunities, and a synthetic surface that plays directly to Bucchero's strengths.

The Empire Trillium Series
A brand-new $3.2 million, 14-race series for New York-breds on the Belmont Tapeta, launching this December, including eight stakes worth $1.8 million. Our NY-bred 2-year-old is exactly the horse this series was built for.

Two Ways In
The NY-bred gets the full state-bred program. The NY-sired yearling qualifies for the New York Stallion Series and sire-based awards. Between them, this package touches every lucrative corner of New York's program.
